How NOT to write an outreach email

November 07, 2020

I received this email this morning:

“I’m sure you’re busy, but if you could respond to my email below, I can cross this off my list.”

Seriously???

If you’re doing email outreach, it means you want something from the other person – so find a way to ADD VALUE to them.

Who in the world does outreach and asks somebody to respond so they can “cross it off their list”?!

I get a lot of emails but this one was SO BAD that I had to share it.

Marked it as SPAM and filtered all of their emails to go directly to the trash.

Rant over.
